We helped the Rose family install a brand new extension on their house, topped with a pristine Skyroom lantern.
The Project
Mr and Mrs Rose had been looking for an orangery or conservatory for the rear aspect of their detached house in a small village in North Somerset for some time, when they visited the Panoramic Showroom last year. When the saw the Skyroom on display they immediately concluded that they had found the right product. After an initial survey, a design for a 6 metre x 3.5 metre building with aluminium windows and bifold doors was agreed on.
The Chosen Product
Having seen the Skyroom in the Panoramic Showroom, the design of the building was dictated by the position of the rear doors on the Rose’s house. There was a requirement to replace an existing sliding patio door with a new set of aluminium French doors to give access to the Skyroom. In addition we designed a 7 panel bifold door that provided a fabulous view of the extensive garden. Finally, underfloor heating was specified and stone floor tiles were chosen to complement the existing floors in the main house.
The Results
Panoramic managed the process of building the base for the conservatory and with a step down from floor level to the garden to encompass the perimeter of the building. The aluminium windows and bifold doors were manufactured in an anthracite grey inside and out, to match the Skyroom roof. These were fitted over a week and without any major issues. The finished product is a stunning example of a Skyroom and indeed has won the manufacturers National Installation of the Month award.
Mr and Mrs Rose are very pleased with their Skyroom and look forward to using it in what we hope will be a great Summer.

Their home benefits from a stunning pastoral view over the rolling fields towards a tree capped hill in the distance. The existing windows were timber and no longer performing efficiently. However, it was essential that the 19 new windows had as much glass as possible without being excessive in price.
